Hi, Iā€™m JIJER MABREY,

a local entrepreneur and lifelong resident of the Bayview Hunters Point neighborhood located in San Francisco with a dream to sponsor and mentor underprivileged youth from neighborhoods like mine and help them engage in positive sport activities on a local and international level.
I grew up in the inner city of San Francisco without the benefit of many positive male role models in my environment. Growing up I was widely respected for my athletic ability and naturally gifted school smarts but neither my athletic nor my academic talents could help evade the pitfalls and dangers encroached in my own neighborhood.
Currently, few programs in the San Francisco Bay Area adequately address the adverse needs of at-risk African American youth. As a result, too many young African American youth are failing in school as well as in the community. The AFRICAN AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CLUB, hereinafter referred to as AAISC, is a 501 (C) (3) tax exempt not for profit organization founded with specific intention to address this problem.

 African Proverb:
"It takes a village to raise a child"

The leading cause of death for children and young adults in District 10 is homicide. AAISC was principally inspired as a result of devastating tragedies in the community where many young African American athletes didn't succeed and fell victim to the streets.

Dream Deferred

David Henderson also known as "Doom", a San Francisco native and high school and college football standout was tragically shot in the head on May 26th, 2011. AAISC's goal is to prevent this story from repeating itself.

reBuild it

A solid healthy village is key and AAISC is unique in that it covers all aspects of an at risk youth's life in a holistic and spiritual manner.
AAISC's various components are integrated by strong mentorship from respected elders and entrepreneurs in the community.
